The 2024 vintage began with a harsh January freeze, bringing several days of sub-zero temperatures. Despite early concerns, the warm, dry spring weather helped resilient vines recover, with most sites achieving normal yields. Harvest conditions were ideal— mild and consistent—allowing fruit to hang longer and be picked at peak ripeness. Though the season started with uncertainty, it ended with excellent quality and surprising yields, a testament to the resilience of the vines and thoughtful vineyard management.

We tasted this wine over 2 nights with 6 couples, so these tasting notes represent a sample size of 12 people.
This rosé isn’t quite sure what it wants to be when it grows up, but nobody is complaining. It sits in a charming middle ground: structurally smooth and strangely rich, yet light enough to threaten your self-control on a hot afternoon. “You could chug this if you are thirsty” was one of the better comments.
Aroma & Nose: The nose leads with delicate floral and fruit notes—think soft lavender, pear, and crisp apple. If you bury your nose deep enough into the glass, you’ll catch a faint whisper of cracked white pepper alongside an unexpected, soft touch of vanilla and velvet.
Palate & Texture
Flavor Profile: Red berries and stone fruit take center stage, supported by crisp green apple.
Mouthfeel: Unusually rich and velvety for a rosé. It completely skips the tart, mouth-puckering acidity you might expect, landing firmly on the smooth and refined side.
Style: Neither overly sweet nor overly bright. It honestly drinks like a light red wine wearing a summer outfit.
The Verdict: An incredibly easy-drinking crowd-pleaser with just enough complexity to keep things interesting. It offers the velvety weight of a light red paired with the high-speed drinkability of a pool-side crusher. Sip it casually, or chug it if you’re thirsty—we won’t judge.

The 2024 Amavi Cellars Rosé opens with a pleasing, harmonious aroma of strawberry, watermelon and light floral notes plus a little mango and other tropical fruits and a touch of chalky minerality. It’s a fabulous start, just give it a bit of time to breathe.
Tasting the wine reveals it to be crisp and full of flavor and depth with great acidity. This is a really lovely example of rosé! It features similar flavors to the nose that are a bit more tart in the mouth as well as a smooth yet vibrant mouthfeel.
It ends crisp, dry and a bit tart on the very long lip-smacking finish. Harmonious and balanced, this is a pleasure to drink. It also went fantastic with our Thai takeout.

93 points. A stunning new edition of this wine, the 2024 Amavi Rose is made from Cabernet Franc grapes and then was stored in stainless steel with some lees stirring before bottling. Damp earth collide with fresh strawberry, guava and shades of blood orange zest. This is ultrafresh with a superb texture and great mouthfeel.
Well that just pushed me over the edge! In for 2 cases. Rose doesn’t last long in this house! We’ve been to Amavi…if the wine is as beautiful as their vineyard and tasting room it’s a winner!

this is an example of a great Rose’. IMO.
