The 2022 Grenache Rosé reveals a beautiful salmon-pink hue with hints of peach and orange. Upon swirling the glass, the wine releases a captivating bouquet of fresh summer fruits. Vibrant aromas of ripe strawberries and juicy watermelon dominate the nose, exuding a sense of sweetness, though the wine is classified as dry. Delicate floral notes, like rose petals and hibiscus, add an enchanting touch, further enhancing the wine’s aromatic complexity.
With its expressive fruitiness and impeccable balance, this Rosé is a testament to why we believe the best Rosés are made from Grenache. It’s the perfect wine, pairing beautifully with a wide range of dishes or simply enjoyed on its own.
Monterey County
Nestled within the picturesque landscape of Monterey County, the ideal grape growing conditions for Grenache thrive in a harmonious convergence of cool coastal influences and sun-kissed vineyard sites. The region’s maritime climate, characterized by brisk ocean breezes and foggy mornings, imparts a distinctive crispness and vibrant acidity to the grapes, while the sun-drenched afternoons allow for gradual ripening, resulting in expressive aromatics and a balanced flavor profile. This exquisite interplay of climate and terroir shapes each cluster, culminating in a Rosé that is the unique essence of Monterey County.
Food Pairing
Fresh Seafood: Think grilled shrimp, seared scallops, or a light ceviche. The wine’s acidity and fruitiness complement the delicate flavors of the seafood.
Summer Salads: A crisp salad with mixed greens, goat cheese, strawberries, and a light vinaigrette will highlight the wine’s bright berry notes.
Charcuterie Board: Include mild cheeses like Brie or fresh goat cheese, cured meats like prosciutto, and fresh fruit like melon or berries to match the wine’s fruity profile.
Light Pasta Dishes: Pasta with fresh tomatoes, basil, and a drizzle of olive oil, or seafood pasta with lemon and garlic, will harmonize well with the Rosé’s acidity and fruitiness.
Grilled Chicken or Turkey: Lightly seasoned grilled poultry, perhaps with a side of roasted vegetables, allows the wine’s fruity flavors to shine.
Spicy Dishes: Dishes with a bit of heat, like Thai or Mexican cuisine, are balanced beautifully by the wine’s refreshing nature, cooling the palate with each sip.

3x 2022 Brick Barn Rosé of Grenache, Monterey Case:
Founded by the visionary duo of Norman and Kathleen Williams, Brick Barn Wine Estate is a testament to their shared love for wine and a fervent desire to craft something truly special. The seeds of their dream were planted in 2012 when they established the estate vineyard, culminating in the inaugural vintage of 2015. Three years later, in 2018, the doors to the Brick Barn tasting room swung open, welcoming guests into a world of unparalleled wine experiences.
But the roots of Brick Barn Wine Estate run deeper still, tracing back over five decades to 1968 when Norman first acquired 40 acres of this hallowed ground. In the ensuing years, amidst the verdant beauty of the landscape, the property flourished not only as a bastion of organic farming and ranching but also as a renowned Arabian horse farm, earning its place among the valley’s elite.
Today, Brick Barn Wine Estate stands as a beacon of excellence, celebrated for its unwavering commitment to producing wines that embody the essence of their terroir. With each bottle, it offers a glimpse into a rich tapestry of heritage, innovation, and the timeless pursuit of perfection.

As always, the “wine is on the way” email from Alice delighted me. I had several events I was excited to bring a new wine to for friends to taste with me
I opened the bottle at a birthday cookout. In the glass this is a lovely orange pink, feeling very celebratory and fun. Initial nose is full of apricot and honeysuckle, with a little dash of raspberry. I served this super cold and it brought out lots of peach and jasmine on the midpalate, with bright grapefruit as the finish.
This was delicious in its own and with burgers and all beef hot dogs. The overall opinion of the wine was that is that it’s extremely drinkable, and the wine lovers enjoyed this quite a bit!
I kept this corked for a business trip, and had the last glass last night, about 4 days after I opened it originally.
I really enjoyed this even a few days later, and found that the grapefruit mellowed but the jasmine and peach developed really nicely.
If you’re a fan of rosé, this is a great buy. It’s perfect for a hot day, and goes with everything.
Hello everyone, I’m Elizabeth, the General Manager here at Brick Barn, and I’ve had the pleasure of being part of this wonderful team for about six years. During that time, I’ve seen firsthand the passion that goes into every bottle we produce, and our 2022 Grenache Rosé is no exception. We’re excited to share this wine with you and offer a fantastic deal on case mates as we dive into the harvest season.
We’re thrilled to offer an incredible special on one of our favorites—the 2022 Grenache Rosé. Crisp, refreshing, and bursting with bright fruit, this wine has become a go-to for those seeking the perfect balance of flavor and finesse. We’ve been here before with this beauty, and each sip reminds us why it’s a standout. Whether you’re stocking up for gatherings or simply enjoying a glass on a warm afternoon, now is the perfect time to take advantage of this great buy on Casemates!
@tercerowines We do make Rosé from our own vineyard but the last vintage sold out so fast, we decided on some supplemental Rosé so we wouldn’t be without! This harvest we’ll be picking for Cab Franc Rosé.
@losthighwayz@tercerowines I’d say it’s a balanced acidity that enhances the fruit without overpowering it, allowing the fresh, vibrant flavors to shine through. It’s crisp but not sharp. No residual sugar but it has a lot of natural fruitniness coming from that Grenache.
@BrickBarnWines@losthighwayz I can’t because I have not tried the wines. There is no indication of RS at all, and the pH and TA point to good acidity. Sorry I can’t help further . . .
@BrickBarnWines@tercerowines thank you Larry. I figured that much BUT the numbers point a certain direction and you’re more likely than me to know a thing or two. See you in three weeks!
It is always a pleasure to Rat for CM, as Alice and Team always seem to find really good quality wines to offer! Admittedly I am not a big Rosé drinker, but this wine has me contemplating making some room in the cellar for it!
Brick Barn 2022 Grenache Rosé - Monterey County
After chilling for a full 24 hours, the wife and I pop-n-poured this lovely bottle as a pre-dinner refreshment - we are currently experiencing a bit of a warm spell in the Midwest this week so a chilled Rosé was just the thing we needed while making dinner. The wine poured a beautiful pink gold, reminiscent of Apple’s older Rose Gold color. Initial nose was of lime zest and watermelon; bright and refreshing with a hint of earthy tartness. Mouthfeel was rich and silky and the wine tasted of earthy, pithy lime zest and sour cherries. The wife remarked that the entire experience reminded her of key lime pie, which I very much agreed. There was lovely balance in the wine that made it very enjoyable!
Well, the rats have provided hints that this is more than a good deal on so-so wine, seems like a great deal on some really good Rose. And appreciate the participation by Elizabeth - stands by her wine and the CM community. So … hardly have room for it, but in for a case.
Don’t forget, y’all, that Rose isn’t just for summer sipping! It is great for Thanksgiving, usually enough acid to cut through the rich, buttery fare and compliments turkey, ham and the ubiquitous green bean casserole!
@BrickBarnWines is this from a particular vineyard or a bunch of different ones in Monterey County? Curious if you have contracts with certain vineyards or simply purchased in bulk for this particular rose? Thank you!
This was a one time purchase from a single vineyard in Monterey County. We had an opportunity to add Sauv Blanc to our portfolio when our winemaker was introduced to this vineyard through another winemaker. Sauv Blanc doesn’t grow well on our property but it’s so popular, we thought we’d give it a try! When we ran out of Rosé, they were able to help us out and that’s how the 2022 Grenache Rosé was born. We don’t have any contracts with anyone. We have 35 acres and make about 8,500 cases a year. We sell some fruit to local wineries but keep most of it for ourselves.
Cracked the first of these. One down, eleven to go. The rattage lives up to the enjoyment of this one.
Busy day Saturday, so leftovers: late supper of a taco truck carnitas taco my wife brought home, and some leftover chicken & andouille jambalaya on the side. This rosé was perfect with the spicy fusion.

@bigbear83 Enjoy! I hope you love it! It’ll be perfect for our warm fall evenings.
