I have never been to Southern Hemisphere at all. I’ve been to Arctic including driving a camper above the Arctic Circle., in my younger days… (Yes in June, Sun doesn’t really go down at night)
I like the idea of the cruises to Antarctica. Not sure what they get to but the ice shelfs are going away.you can’t really get to the “core” which might be all that is left for the future. You can’t just go on “day hikes” there, and I think I’m too old for that anyway. So I guess that puts me in the “retired tourist” class that most of these cater to.
I don’t just want to go to a tourist attraction where they bring out penguins for photo-ops and then go back inside for lunch and champagne. Or, maybe that doesn’t sound so bad?
Almost got to work there about a decade ago
@rjquillin me too!
