This Cabernet Sauvignon features aromas of boysenberry, toasted oak, and baking spice. Flavors of wild blackberry and jammy black cherry are framed by robust toasted oak spice. The palate is complex with a nice transition from layered fruit at the front through to a graceful, lasting finish.
In the lush and storied farmland surrounding Lodi, California, the soils are rich, and history is legendary. In a bygone era, this was sugar country, and oh, how sweet it was. Over time, the farms transformed into a premium wine-growing region, and today, this area is known for growing some of the best Cabernet Sauvignon around.
Winemaking
This wine is sourced from sunny Lodi, California, where the cool delta breezes temper late afternoon heat. This region of California has a moderately warm, consistent growing season, which allows the grapes grown here to spend an ideal amount of time on the vine and develop fully ripened, dense fruit flavors with excellent balance of structure, acid, and fruit – vintage after vintage.

Pardon the late rattage y’all. At CES all week. Flew home and to my surprise there was a lovely bottle waiting for me. I am standing in my kitchen trying it My luggage has yet to be unpacked lol. But hey after 5 days in a row of 20 hour days I could use some 14.5% wine .
It is not often that the tasting notes on the website leave quite literally nothing to be added. But for real these cats summed it up.
Straightforward, no-nonsense Cab that leans ripe and approachable rather than brooding or complex. You get dark fruit, soft tannins, and just enough structure. At the price point I grabbed a case! It’s going to be summer before I know it here in the Los Angeles suburbs and I can imagine pairing this bad boy with some tri-tip or burgers or barbecue ribs whatever. It will be the go-to backyard grilling cab not like a steakhouse cab if that vibes.
@cdgrimm there was but, to me, not terribly offensive. I just had more of this with carne asada and it nicely offset the sweetness. There’s certainly a sweetness and while not ideal – not so off putting as to ruin enjoyment
@connorbush@rjquillin
Oh man I used to love going to the CES to get connections of the new fangled stereo receivers to sell on eBay, I could tell you more than a few funny stories of the girls coming out of the Porn CES or whatever they called it while I was playing craps at the Venetian
@rjquillin@ScottW58 Yeah it’s always a funny reference that the adult film festival or whatever is the same week as CES. Nothing like mixing a bunch of engineers with a bunch of adult entertainers in Vegas for a week!

Sugar Beet indeed…RS: 6.98 g/L
@kaolis Never have we ever… seen a bottle here where the RS is higher than the per-bottle price?
@kaolis Hard to imagine a worse name
@DanOR @kaolis Unappealing, and yet somehow appropriate. It’s red, and sweet.
@InFrom @kaolis the icewine we had here a couple years back probably meet that criterion.
A Sebastiani label, not a winery. Fluff piece on Sonoma Bespoke in Decanter… click here, ya know you want to
@kaolis
So that’s where Max went!

@connorbush Thanks. I was waiting for rattage. Too cheap to pass on but wanted to be sure.
@connorbush was there a sweet cloying mouth feel? I’m a little suspect due to the RS.
@connorbush
I’ve both attended and exhibited at more than a few CES; 20 hour days!?

@connorbush @rjquillin @ScottW58 scheduled that way accidentally on purpose?
